One generation will declare your works to the next and will proclaim your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:4)
Thought: The life we live on earth is a race we run and the race we run is like a relay race. We run our race with things that have been handed down to us from the previous generation and we are thankful for the good things that have been handed down to us. We all now have a responsibility to hand over things God has put into our lives to the next generation; how do we do this? One way to hand over things God has poured into our lives is by having conversations with our children about the things God has done and is doing in our lives. Our children will forever carry in their hearts the words we sow into their lives. Let the words we sow be the declaration of the mighty acts God has done and is doing in our lives.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the precious gift of children You have given us; I also thank You for all the good things we have received from our previous generations. I pray, dear Lord, that You will provide us with many opportunities to sow with our words the declaration of Your mighty acts into the lives of our children. I thank You that these seeds will grow to bear much good fruit in their lives and in their generation. Thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
