Preserved blameless

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Thought:  The purpose of sanctification is this: to give God the room to reveal Himself to us and through us. This year, may our children be set apart in every area of their lives: in their innermost being, in their spirit, in the area of their emotions (their soul), and in their physical bodies. This is what Joshua told the children of Israel just before they crossed over into their promised land: “Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you” (Joshua 3:5). Yes, this year may the “Lord Himself” be the one setting our children apart and in doing so may our children be prepared to witness the wonders of God in every area of their lives.

Prayer and declaration: Heavenly Father, this morning we thank You that You are the One who has chosen our children to be Your very own. Lord, this year as our children get ready to cross over into a new season of their lives, we pray that You Yourself will be the One setting them apart in this world and among their peers; yes, Lord, may our children be set apart in their innermost being: in the way they think, and in the area of their physical activities. Father, even as You work on our children and set them apart, we thank You that our children will witness the wonders of God in every area of their lives. For this, dear Lord, we give You our thanks and ALL the praise and ALL the glory. Yes, Lord, we declare this school year will be a year of wonder and amazement for our children. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.
