Thought: The God we serve is One that has no limits; He is One that cannot be contained (1 Kings 8:27). The only thing that can contain God is when we put a limit him (Psalm 78:41). This year, as our children head back to school let us pray that God will surround our children with the right teachers and mentors: teachers and mentors who will NOT put a limit on our children’s abilities but will nurture them to be all that God has created them to be. As God uses these mentors and teachers to speak into the lives of our children and unlock the wealth of abilities God has placed in them, this year, may our children be those who DO NOT limit the Holy One of Israel but who live lives by drawing their resource from the Unlimited One: Christ Jesus.
Prayer and declaration: Heavenly Father, this morning I give You thanks for all the good things that You have prepared for my children this school year. Lord, as the children step into this new year with great expectations, we thank You that You will NEVER disappoint. Lord, as parents we pray that our children will not live their lives from a place of limitations this year, but from a place of great abundance: an abundance of favor and an abundance of opportunities to be all that God has created them to be. Lord, with the authority you have bestowed upon us as parents, in the name of Jesus, we reject everything that comes against our children to put a limitation on them and we SAY NO to this. Lord, we thank You for the excellent teachers and mentors that You are going to surround our children with this year: teachers and mentors whose words and actions will position our children to live from a place of NO LIMITS. We thank You that our children will inherit the fullness of every good thing Christ has prepared for them in this school year. This we pray in Jesus’ precious name, amen.
