The mind of Christ

Take the helmet of salvation…Ephesians 6:17, devotional

Thought: It is for a purpose that the word of God equates a piece of armor that protects our head to the work of salvation.  For the work of salvation to be fully manifested in our lives our minds will need to be constantly aligned to the word of God. Even as the world works to influence the minds of our children to be aligned with their way of thinking, let our declaration over our children and over our lives be this: “But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, this morning as we come before You, we thank You for the gift of our minds. Lord, as our children head back to school this year, we cover their minds with the “helmet of salvation” and we thank You for the blessing of this provision in the “full armor of God”. Lord, we thank You that by the provision You have made through this piece of armor, the minds of our children will be protected. Lord, we thank You that this year, even as the minds of our children are constantly influenced and transformed by Your word and by Your Spirit, our children will go from glory to glory and from grace to grace. Yes, Lord, I declare that this year every area of my children’s lives will be influenced by the work of Your salvation and this work of salvation will be the result of the “mind of Christ” they have. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
