The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD. Proverbs 21:31
Thought: One of the greatest sermons the Lord Jesus ever preached was the sermon on the mount. With regard to this sermon, I want to draw your attention to this one thing: “And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him” (Matt. 5:1). Do you notice what Jesus did? He prepared Himself for what was to come: the multitude and the sermon. The King James Version puts it this way: “he went up into a mountain: and when he was set his disciples came unto him”. God does not just provide for our present, but through His word and His Spirit He prepares us for what is to come: the battles and the blessing. As the Lord prepares our children for what lies ahead this year, let our declaration as parents be that our children will be ones who overcome EVERY battle and be ones who possess EVERY blessing. Yes, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD”.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, this morning we thank You that You are the God from whom we receive “every good gift and every perfect gift”, and we thank You that this year You have good and perfect things prepared for our children. Lord, even as You have prepared good things for our children this year, our prayer is that You will also prepare them in body, mind, and spirit, to be positioned to inherit these “good and perfect” blessings. Lord, we thank You that even as You prepare our children to be positioned for everything that lies ahead this year, our declaration over them is this: “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14). Yes, Lord, we thank You for this season of triumph that our children are entering into. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.
