The fruit of endurance

Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day… (Acts 26:22)

When God called us, He trusted us with this one thing: that we would not quit halfway into our journey with Him. If there was a person who had enough reason to quit halfway through his call, it was Apostle Paul; you can read his story in 2 Corinthians 11:23-27. Going through all he went through, his testimony before king Agrippa was this: “I continue unto this day”. The Bible is very clear about the agenda the enemy has: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10). The enemy is after our promise, our blessing, and our reward; the way he can rob us of all this is by making us quit on our journey with the Lord – our journey of believing, our journey of praying, and our journey of trusting.

Now what is the key to continuing in the call of God and preserving our promise, our blessing, and our reward? To preserve the purpose of God over our lives and families we all need the grace of endurance. To endure does not mean to accept the situation or circumstance but to have the strength to keep pushing through without giving up. To give up we do not need any help from God but to keep pressing on we do need His help and He will forever be our “very present help” (Psalm 46:1). This is how the word of God testifies of Abraham’s faith: “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise” (Hebrews 6:15). The Bible describes the attitude our Lord Jesus had to have to fulfill the assignment on His life: “Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls or lose heart” (Hebrews 12:3). Be encouraged, “having done all, to stand firm”; your payday from the Lord will not be denied.

Declaration: With the help of God I will have the strength to endure every situation and inherit my promise, my blessing, and my reward.

Scripture: Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (Ephesians 6:13, NLT)
