A Continual Praise

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1)

Thought: This beautiful verse in Psalm 34 was not written when King David was sitting on the throne and everything was going well for him; David wrote this psalm at a time when he was running for his life and he found himself in a very uncomfortable place. Our praise in our mouth should never be dependent on our circumstances but our praise should always be because of who the Lord is: He is never changing in his thoughts toward us, He is always good, He is always faithful, and He will always be. Our circumstances and our challenges in life are temporary: before we realize it, they will be things of the past; but the love, mercy, and goodness of God are things that will forever be our portion. Let His praise be continually in our mouth.

Prayer: Father, I bless You and praise You for who You are: You are a God who never changes; I thank You and praise You for that. Lord, You are the eternal God and You are from everlasting to everlasting and You are the only one who deserves ALL my praise ALL the time. You will be the one under whose wings I will always find my place of refuge and shelter. Lord, I thank You that You will give me the strength and ability to ensure that my circumstances will never dictate my praise to You but my mouth will show forth Your praise continually. Your praise will forever be on my lips. I love You and I thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
