Blameless and Upright

…In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. (Job 2:10)

Thought: We see Job being introduced to us in Job 1:1 as one who was “blameless and upright”. That is a wonderful way to be introduced. We all know the many trials Job faced in his life but the one way he proved that how the Bible described him was true was in the way he conducted himself with his words. Through Christ, God looks at us as being ones who are righteous and blameless; that is truly the work of grace. But one way our lives can be aligned with this righteous standing we have with God is not only by the words we say, but also by the words we choose not to say: those words that are contrary to God’s word and God’s thoughts and purpose concerning us.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the standing we have with You in Christ. It is because of Your love that You showed me through Jesus that You can look at me as one who is righteous. Father, today I choose to acknowledge this standing I have with You not only by the words I say but also by the words I choose not to say. I thank You, Lord Jesus, that it is You who are going to provide me with all the grace I need to ensure that my words will always be in alignment with the righteousness that You have freely bestowed upon me. I thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, amen.
