He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” (Luke 17:14)
The life of God will be manifested in our lives through the process of growth; the more we allow the kingdom of God to influence any area of our lives, the more we will experience the grace of growth in that area. There is one thing that can restrict growth and increase in our lives and that is the attitude of complacency; the fruit of complacency is stagnation. There are certain indicators God has placed within us to let us know that He has something more for us. One of those very prominent indicators is restlessness.
As children of God in Christ, we are called to live from a place of rest and trust, but a season of restlessness could be an indication that the Lord is drawing us into a new season. In Genesis 27:40 we see the Lord telling Esau this: “By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but when you grow restless you shall break his yoke from your neck.” A season of restlessness could very well be the voice of the Lord nudging us to move into our next season and assignment. Pay attention to seasons of restlessness. God has not called us to be stagnant or complacent in life, and that is the reason the operative word for growth in the kingdom of God will always be “Go.” “And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed” (Luke 17:14).
Declaration: As a child of God, my calling in life is to grow and increase in my sphere of influence. I will not let the attitude of complacency rob me of my blessing of growth and increase in every area of my life.
Scripture: The LORD had said to Abram, “Go….and you will be a blessing. (Genesis 12:1,2)
