Grow in knowledge

Grow in knowledge

Recently, I was reading a portion of the Bible that is very familiar to most of us. It is found in Hosea 4:6: “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge…” When I read it this time, it caught my attention. The meaning of the word destroy is to ruin something, and anything that has been ruined will diminish in value. In the Bible the apostles of Christ admonish the believers to grow in the knowledge of God as the knowledge of God and of Christ is the source of all grace in our lives: “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:2).

The more we grow in knowledge in a specific area, the more room we make for God to move in and through that area in our lives. When the apostle Paul was writing to the church at Corinth, he said: “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant” (1 Corinthians 12:1). Lack of knowledge in the area of the gifts of the Spirit will hinder the Lord from moving supernaturally and in power in and through our lives. Areas in which we are willing to grow in knowledge are the areas in which we empower the Lord to bless and increase us. Do not stop with just praying about areas that you struggle with in life, but find out what the Bible has to say about them. Areas in our lives that have been enriched by the revelation knowledge of God will be greatly enriched by the grace of God; it will always be the grace of God that empowers us to excel in any area of our lives.

Declaration: As I grow in the knowledge of God in every area of my life, my spirit, soul, and body will experience and will be influenced by the exceedingly abundant grace of God.

Scripture: “Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.” (Matthew 22:29)
