Do not be afraid; keep on speaking; do not be silent. For I am with you… (Acts 18:9,10)
Thought: Christ has called us to be the salt of the earth; what that means is we are going to find ourselves placed in the midst of people who are different from us: different in their values, different in their beliefs, and different in many other ways. God places us in these situations so we can be the ones influencing our surroundings for Christ. All through the Bible, we find God’s people put in strange and uncomfortable situations where they had to speak the words God had put into their hearts; Joseph, Daniel and Esther were used by God to bring His word to people in authority; Paul had to stand before kings and Gentiles to bring the counsel of God. All of them had a choice NOT to speak but, instead, they chose to speak God’s word; they spoke and God did the rest. Let us choose to be God’s mouthpiece wherever He has placed us and to the ones the Holy Spirit sends us to.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for calling me not just to be Your child but also to represent You in this world. Lord, I pray You will always give me the boldness to speak the words You want me to say to whomever You send me to and to give You the opportunity to work in their hearts. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
