Say to Them

Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. (Ezekiel 37:4,5)

Thought: In this story, God does not tell Ezekiel to pray for the dry bones but he tells Ezekiel to speak to them. In our own lives, too, it is just not enough for us to pray but there are times we need to say. I want to ask you: What is this lifeless situation that you have been praying about and you know it is God’s will to bring life into it? Maybe it is time for you to move from praying to saying. In Matthew 8, when the centurion met Jesus, he did not ask Jesus to pray for his servant; he said this to Jesus, “just say the word”. The Bible says when Jesus heard this, “He marveled”. Let us boldly speak the word of God that is in our mouth and then let us watch God bring the dead and hopeless situation back to life.

Prayer: Father, the Bible says that we do not need to ascend into heaven or go deep into the earth to bring You into our midst but that the word is near us, even in our mouth and in our heart. Lord, today I speak your life-giving word into my lifeless situation and I thank You as I do this You are bringing this lifeless and dry situation in my life back to life again. Oh, Father, I praise You for I see life coming! In Jesus’ name, amen.
