For I know the plans I have for you… Jeremiah 29:11
God has our entire life planed out. As children of God our lives are not just a series of random events but every moment of our lives is conceived in the mind of God from the foundation of the earth: “all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:16).
Even though God has His plans laid out concerning every one of our lives, His plans manifest in our unplanned moments. Two of the greatest incidents that changed the history of this world were manifested in two of the most unplanned moments: two unplanned pregnancies. Sarah’s pregnancy was an unplanned event; when the angel of the Lord let Abraham know that Sarah would be pregnant (Genesis 18:10), the only way Sarah knew to respond was to laugh because she had passed her appointed season for having children (Genesis 18:12, Romans 4:19). The next unplanned pregnancy was that of Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus. When the angel announced her pregnancy, her only response was “How will this be?” (Luke 1:34); her response was because she had not entered her appointed season of having children. Both these unplanned moments changed the history of the world. As you go through this week, make room for unplanned God moments, which have the potential to bring you face to face with your destiny and change the very direction of your life.
Declaration: This week I will make space in my life for unplanned God moments.
Scripture: Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. (Proverbs 19:21)
